THE AUTORAMAS are among the most famous Garage-Pop-Punk-bands in Brasil today. Since 1997 the band has not only recorded 8 albums and numerous EPs, but also played for MTV and toured through Japan, the USA and Europe where they made their name through uniquely wild live-shows. Their latest LP “Unsere Favoriten” consists of the favourites among their song-repertoire indeed, it’s like a “best of”-lp, but newly recorded. The songs are very well chosen, known from both previous albums or live-shows, and are definitely representative for the band. With “Mundo Moderno” it starts with full power right away! The unmistakable, wild, distorted guitar-sound, a cool punkrock attitude, catchy melodies, the vocals of singer Gabriel Thomaz and Erika Martins, that harmonise brilliantly together, and a hard beat make up the sound of this Brasilian quartet. Aside from their fantastic own compositions such as “Paciência”, “Catchy Chorus” or “1, 2, 3, 4”, which was released first by bandleader Thomaz’ previous band LITTLE QUAIL AND THE MAD BIRDS in 1994, the AUTORAMAS shine just as much with their coverversions – from NEW ORDER’s “Blue Monday” to SHOCKING BLUE’s “Send Me A Postcard” and LINK WRAY’s “Run Chicken Run”.
